Appleton Estate Signature Blend Rum: Review & Tasting Notes
About Appleton Estate Signature Blend Rum
Known as Appleton Estate V/X until its relaunch in 2015, Appleton Estate Signature Blend is a blend of 15 aged rums distilled at Jamaica's Appleton Estate - home to to five 5,000 gallon copper pot stills and also stainless steel column stills.
Nestled in Jamaica's Nassau Valley, the Appleton Estate has been the site of rum production since at least 1749. Appleton Estate rums are produced using sugar cane grown on the estate and water from its limestone spring, aged in 40 gallon American oak barrels, and blended by Joy Spence, the world's first female Master Blender. World Rum Guide Review Appleton Estate Signature Blend is a sipping rum for some but is at its best when mixed with cola or ginger beer. Citrus aromas of orange peel join tropical fruit and tobacco notes on the nose, with a hint of vanilla from the American oak barrels. On the palate the Signature Blend offers flavours of orange, apricots, caramel and oak. The finish is warm and medium length with notes of caramel and vanilla. - Carl Jackson, 2019 |
