Mai-Tai: Recipe & Instructions


How to make a Mai-Tai
Mai-Tai
A Tiki bar classic, the Mai-Tai was invented in 1944 at the original Trader Vic's restaurant in California. The name is said to come from the Tahitian work Maita'i, meaning 'good'.

To make a Mai-Tai you will need the following equipment:
  • Shaker
  • ​Strainer

Recipe:
​Ingredients & Garnish


Mai-Tai Recipe
Ingredients
Dark rum (60ml / 2oz)
Orange curaçao (15ml / 0.5oz)
Orgeat syrup (15ml / 0.5oz)
Fresh lime juice (15ml / 0.5oz)
Sugar Syrup (10ml / 0.3oz)

Garnish
Fresh mint sprig
Lime wedge​

​How to Make a Mai-Tai​


How to Make a Mojito
  • 1. Add all ingredients to a shaker and shake with ice
  • 2. Strain into a tumbler
  • 3. ​Add a sprig of mint & lime wedge to garnish
  • 4. ​Serve with a straw
