Lamb's Navy Rum: Review & Tasting Notes
About Lamb's Navy Rum
Lamb's Navy Rum is a blend of 18 Caribbean rums from islands including Guyana, Barbados, Jamaica and Trinidad. The recipe was created in 1849 by 22 year old Alfred Lamb, son of English wine and spirits entrepreneur William Lamb.
During World War 2 Lamb's Distillery was bombed but quickly relocated to another site which it shared with two of its competitors. The three companies would later merge to form United Rum Merchants. Ownership of the brand has changed hands several times in the last 30 years, including spells with Allied Lyons, Pernod Ricard and Canada-based Corby Distilleries. World Rum Guide Review Deep amber in colour, Lamb's Navy Rum has aromas of molasses, caramel and vanilla. Sweet on the palate with caramel, dried fruit and molasses, these flavours are followed by more subtle hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. The finish is dry with spicy notes. - Carl Jackson, 2019 |
