Spiced Rum Leads The Way As Rum Sales Expected to Rise in 2021

New research from market analysts Euromonitor expects growth in rum sales in 2021, up from 129 million 9-litre cases in 2020 to 135 million next year.

In the UK, lockdown seems to have encouraged more people to try rum - 40% more rum was sold in April - June 2020 than in the same period in 2019.

Rum sales surged by 7% in 2019 – a rise driven by cocktails and new spiced and flavoured rums, according to food and drink analysts CGA.

In the same period, brandy and whisky sales rose by about 3% and 1% respectively, and vodka sales actually fell by 0.4%.
